Two more organ grinders...

Here's two more. (whaddya think, Mike? Feel free to play around with these ideas and try other things) Happy New Year everybody!

Organ Grinder doodles

These are some concept doodles for a project I'm working on with Mike Owens (I'd turn that into a link if I knew how). An organ grinder and a pregnant monkey.

Two old things

Sorry about the lack of posts lately. I had to put the alphabet on hold to work on a Christmas card, which I'll probably post after I've sent them out. But here's a couple of old things that most of you haven't seen yet. My wedding thank you card and an older Christmas card I did.

old stuff wednesday

Sometimes my worst drawings are my favorites. In fact, I sometimes let my hand go lazy when I doodle, hoping for something more spontaneous and unexpected. I decided to start posting old stuff every wednesday and digging through my file cabinet, here's the first one that caught my eye. There was no date on him, but I'm sure he was drawn at least a few years ago. I don't know what it is about this little guy, but he makes me laugh every time I look at him. To those of you who only like "good" drawings, I apologize.

The Letter W

A mouse and his cheese

Just trying to get more comfortable with Painter. Feels a little overworked, but it was fun.

The Letter R

The Letter G

I've been monkeying around with this guys colors for days now. If any of you photoshoppers can tell me why I'm losing so much color and saturation when I convert to jpeg, PLEASE leave a comment. There didn't seem to be a problem on the A or the N, but this one looks really dull compared to the original file. AARRGH!

This is a design I did a couple of months ago for my mother-in-law's new daycare service.

Worm in a Helicopter doesn't start with N

Couple of things to explain on this one. First of all, it's a nightcrawler, not a worm. Newt ("that looks like a lizard!"), Nightingale ("why did you draw a bird?"), or Narwhale ("what the hell is that thing?") As you can see, the choices were slim. I went with Nightcrawler. Also I'm painting the ones with blue backgrounds first, in case you're wondering why they aren't in order. If anyone knows a better animal and mode of transportation starting with "N", you're too late, but let me know anyway. And don't worry, this one was the biggest stretch of all of them. I never would've thought "N" would be the difficult letter, but oh well.

Santy the Red-Nosed Elf-Snowdeer

Started thinking about Christmas card ideas for this year, and my wife insisted I post this doodle. So here ya go.

the letter A

This is the first in a series I've been working on. I've finished all 26 drawings, but the painting is going to take some time.

Freelance Cartoon Job

A couple months ago I did these cartoons as a freelance illustration job for a landscape architecture/urban planning company. I had no control over the writing obviously, but it was fun to try to make them funny to look at. (The cartoons were for their employees so don't expect to get all the jokes)

my first post

my butt is now in gear.
